Photograph shows the Canadian Siberian Expeditionary Forces in training in Queen's Park, New Westminster, B.C. The fisheries building (later Vagabond Playhouse/Bernie Legge Theatre) can be seen in the background. The Canadian Siberian Expeditionary troops were sent to secure logistics in post revolution/pre Communist Russia during WW1 to ensure safe trans-shipment of stockpiled supplies in Russian ports via the trans-Siberian rail road. |
