| History/Biographical |
Douglas James Jack was a member of the Province Police Force and a member of the New Westminster Police Department. In 1963 Doug joined the BC Coroner's Office. Later on he became the Regional Coroner. Doug retried as BC's deputy chief coroner at the age of 63. Doug was 77 at the time of the interview. Doug passed away in November 1999.

This audio recording features Douglas Jack's experiences surrounding the Province Police Force, the New Westminster Police Department and the BC Coroner's Office. It has been divided into 5 tracks.
1. Start of the recording to minute 12: It covers some biographical details. He also goes into some detail concerning what New Westminster looked like when he was growing up and the different types of activities he would do as a child. Furthermore, he describes his schooling in New Westminster and in Scotland.
2. Minutes 12 to 20: Describes his professional life. He speaks about joining the BC Provincial Police Force. He also speaks about his duties with the Force.
3. Minutes 20 to 34: It describes why he believes the BC Provincial Police Force was dissolved and replaced by the RCMP. He talks and his time and duties with the New Westminster Police Department. He also briefly mentions his four years in the RCAF.
4. Minutes 34 to 42: He talks about his experience with the incompetency of the New Westminster Police Force.
5. Minute 42 to the end of the recording: He speaks about his time in the coroner's office. He speaks about his apprenticeship in that office and begins to descirbe what a coroner does.
