Memento of Montgomery is this battledress worn by the famed soldier complete with badges and medal ribbons. It has been acquired by the Westminster Regiment for its regimental museum. Westminster Regiment is one of a family of regiments of which Field Marshal Viscount Montgomery held the title "Colonel of the Regiment". The tunic is displayed here by Brig.-Gen. E.A. Eakins, left, honorary colonel of the regiment, and Lt.-Col. L.K. Deane, the regiment's present commanding officer. The tunic was acquired as a result of a request by Lt.-Col. Deane when he visited the Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers in England last summer. |
