Postcard shows the business block built on the same site as the old Douglas-Elliott Building, destroyed in the 1898 fire: Columbia Street and Sixth, south side.
The site was bought by the Dominion Trust Co. of Vancouver in 1906 (see Daily Columbian, Sept. 29, 1906, p.8) and in March 1907 construction work was in progress (Daily Coln. March 27, 1907, p.1). The building was up by 1908 - See Funerals #186-188.
In later years, David Spencer Ltd. and Zeller's occupied this building.
