Scope & Content Photograph shows Irving House. This fine home was completed in 1864 for Captain William Irving a pioneer of the riverboat trade in this province, especially on the Fraser River. The house was built by members of the Royal Engineers under contract to Captain Irving. The house remained in possession of Irving descendants until 1950, when it was purchased by the City of New Westminster.
